  • The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is the perfect getaway for trekkers of all ages and experience levels. It is short and sweet but still gives you those awe-inspiring Himalayan sceneries. The ultimate destination of the trek is to make it to Poon Hill (3210 meters), a famous lookout point to see Annapurna (8091 meters), Hiunchuli (6441 meters), Machhapuchhre (6993 meters), Dhaulagiri (8167m), Manaslu (8156m), and other peaks along the expansive skyline.
    Hiking up to Poon Hill to watch the sunrise over these stunning snow-covered mountains is something to be treasured. This trek also includes hiking through colorful villages and rhododendron forests, with the backdrop of the Annapurna always present. Even for experienced trekkers, this is a great introduction to the Himalayas, especially if time is short. Accommodation along this established route is very comfortable and the menus are not disappointing. And of course, the mountains never disappoint either in their fully photogenic beauty.

  • Day 1 Kathmandu to Pokhara Drive (830m) 6 – 7 hrs

    Day 2 Drive from Pokhara to Naya Pool, Trek to Tikhe Dhunga (1540m) 6 – 7 hrs

    Day 3 Trek from Tikhe Dhunga to Ghorepani Village (2860m) 5 – 6 hrs

    Day 4 Hike to Poon Hill (3210m), trek to Tadapani (2590m) 4 – 5 hrs

    Day 5 Tadapani to Ghandruk Village (1940 m) 3 – 4 hrs

    Day 6 Trek from Ghandruk to Naya Pool (1070m), Drive to Pokhara (830m) 5 – 6 hrs

      Ghorepani and Poonhill are located in the North Central Nepal in Annapurna Trekking region. It lies in the Annapurna Conservation Area Project.

      Yes, you can easily recharge the batteries of your Electronic Items on the Tea houses in which you stay. Try to keep your electronic items warm as cold temperature makes the battery drain soon.

    • Can I do Poonhill trek with my children and family?

      Yes, you can trek with children in Poonhill. Since this is a short trek route, your children won’t feel too hard to walk 4-5 hour each day. As for infants, many times people have carved their little ones along the trek route. It is better to hire porter to carry infants.

    • Is trekking permit mandatory for Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek?

      Yes, For Ghorepani Poon Hill trek, you have to make ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) permit that can be obtained from Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Kathmandu, and Damside, Pokhara.
